Take a look at 25 of the top high school boys’ lacrosse players to watch in 2022. Organized by region, we highlight five players each from the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West. The players are listed alphabetically by last name.

NORTHEAST

Jack Cascadden, Garden City (N.Y.), FO, Sr.

The Cornell commit has a quick twitch and fast hands. But at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, he’s also a physical specimen who can stay on and be a force.

Will Donovan, Brunswick School (Conn.), LSM, Sr.

The Notre Dame-bound lefty creates havoc in the middle of the field and is dangerous in transition.

Joey Spallina, Mount Sinai (N.Y.), A, Sr.

His legend only grew greater when he scored the winning goal — his sixth of the game — in the waning seconds to lead Mount Sinai to an epic Long Island championship win over Manhasset. The Syracuse signee led Long Island with 122 points.

Joey Terenzi, Manhasset (N.Y.), M, Sr.

A lethal finisher and a facilitator who plays at breakneck speed, the Virginia-bound midfielder combines flash with a high lacrosse IQ.

Greyson Vorgang, Niskayuna (N.Y.), A, Jr.

The Denver commit led Section 2 with 111 points (65 goals, 46 assists), averaging 7.4 points per game.

MID-ATLANTIC

Caleb Fyock, St. John’s (Md.), G, Jr.

An exceptional stopper, Fyock has soft hands and doesn’t give up rebounds. The Ohio State commit make plays outside the cage, secures the ball and distributes it accurately.

McCabe Millon, McDonogh (Md.), A, Jr.

Millon (Duke) has developed into a dynamic dodger who attacks the goal aggressively and can finish with either hand. His versatility allows McDonogh to use him any number of ways.

Dom Pietramala, Boys’ Latin (Md.), A, Sr.

A prolific scorer who burst into high school with 33 goals and 10 assists as a freshman, the UNC-bound star has only gotten better with experience.

Truitt Sunderland, Calvert Hall (Md.), A, Sr.

A natural at X, the Virginia-bound attackman can feed and finish with either hand, rides well and constantly makes the right play.

Michael Weisshaar, Archbishop Spalding (Md.), M, Sr.

Weisshaar (Towson) scored 48 goals and delivered 23 assists to earn the C. Markland Kelly High School Lacrosse Award as a junior. He does it all.

SOUTH

Ethan Burke, Westlake (Texas), A, Sr.

Burke is highly talented, but it appears his game won’t be tested at the collegiate level. Burke, who previously committed to play lacrosse at Maryland, has decided to pursue football at Texas.

Maddox Johnson, Ponte Vedra (Fla.), M, Jr.

Johnson is a dynamic scorer who contributed 49 goals a season ago. Johnson is committed to Denver.

Sean Jordan, St. Andrew’s (Fla.), LSM, Sr.

Coach Tony Seaman speaks highly of Jordan and says he’s capable of being a star. The Harvard recruit had 63 ground balls, 16 goals and seven assists last year.

Nolan Parlette, Ponte Vedra (Fla.), G, Sr.

The USA Lacrosse All-American and Air Force commit made 135 saves, sparking a 16-game winning streak..

Gunnar Schwarz, St. Andrew’s (Fla.), G, Sr.

Committed to Navy, Schwarz helped St. Andrew’s to its FHSAA state title a year ago. The All-American stopped 69 percent of shots and allowed a paltry 3.9 goals per game.

MIDWEST

Klaus Anger, Loyola Academy (Ill.), FO, Sr.

Expect Anger to be one of the area’s top faceoff forces. Last season, the St. Mary’s commit notched 223 faceoffs (at a 71 percent clip) and 87 ground balls.

Bo Lockwood, Hartland (Mich.), A, Sr.

Prior to last season, no Mitten State player had topped 180 points in a season. Along came Lockwood, the Michigan commit who recorded a whopping 236 (96 goals, 140 assists) in 24 games.

Crandall Quinn, Forest Hills Central (Mich.), G, Jr.

An All-American last season, Quinn has led the way for the Rangers for a long time. Expect the Michigan commit to provide strong play in the cage once again for Forest Hills Central.

Griffin Scane, Culver Academy (Ind.), M, Sr.

Big-time players prove themselves in big-time games. That’s exactly what Scane, the brother of Northwestern star Izzy Scane, did when he poured in four goals and two assists against IMG Academy. Expect more from the Penn commit.

Marek Tzagournis, Dublin Jerome (Ohio), A, Jr.

The Denver commit is coming off a superb season in which he tallied 62 goals and 88 assists.

WEST

Tayden Bultman, Torrey Pines (Calif.), M, Sr.

The UNC commit tallied 27 goals and 18 assists last year after coming back from a torn ACL in 2020. He’s a five-star recruit, according to Inside Lacrosse.

Lucas de la Paz, Mater Dei (Calif.), FO, Jr.

As a sophomore, de la Paz won 80 percent of his faceoffs and was voted the Team MVP. He also contributes on offense and serves as the quarterback in man-up situations.

Jack Kiefer, Cherry Creek (Colo.), D, Jr.

Kiefer is one of the top defenders in Colorado and had his pick of Division I schools to choose from but committed to Duke in November. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior is a four-star recruit.

Jon King, Corner Canyon (Utah), A/M, Sr.

King racked up 112 goals and 49 assists to help Corner Canyon to a perfect 2021 season and will look to somehow top that this year. He’s committed to Penn State.

Max Sloat, Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.), A/M, Sr.

The lefty Duke signee is one of the top attackers in the West but also nationally. He registered a team-high 69 goals and 102 points (33 assists) last year.
