Break a 19-year-old conference record, earn US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.
That’s just what Alyssa Parrella did this weekend, scoring seven goals in a win over UConn to pass Loyola’s Stacey Morlang on the CAA’s all-time goals list. Parrella, one of the best players in Hofstra history, now has 226 career goals.
Parrella recorded 10 goals and three assists for the Pride in their opening week, helping Hofstra start the season 2-0.
“I think that coming back and being able to accomplish something like that, it really does mean a lot to me,” said Parrella, a fifth-year senior, in a postgame Zoom conference.
Parrella also surpassed 300 career points in the game. Her 305 points are just 20 shy of the CAA’s career mark, which is held by Old Dominion’s Suzanne Wosczyna (2001-04).
