Asa Goldstock was on another level on Saturday.
Playing in her first game in the newly renovated Carrier Dome, Goldstock raised the roof. The graduate goalkeeper made 11 saves and kept a talented Stony Brook offense at bay in a 16-6 win for Syracuse. She is the US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Player of the Week for her efforts.
Goldstock has allowed just 11 goals in her two starts this season, fueling Syracuse’s climb to No. 2 in the Nike / US Lacrosse Division I Top 20. She ranks fifth nationally with a .607 save percentage with 17 saves on her ledger.
The fifth-year starter recorded her 500th career save in the first game of the season.
