Aurora Cordingley was born into a Canadian lacrosse family, with her father, Troy, an NLL veteran player and coach. She learned the game playing boys on the box lacrosse floors of Oakville, Ontario.

Her father instilled a competitive fire that she maintains today, as she excels at the Division I level. After graduating from the illustrious Hill Academy, Cordingley spent four seasons with Johns Hopkins, scoring 182 points along the way. This past offseason, she chose to transfer to Maryland to play out her college lacrosse season.
