The Brine/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

Northeast

Kendall Halpern, Syosset (N.Y.)

Halpern netted her fourth goal with seven seconds remaining in regulation to propel Syosset to an 11-10 over Garden City (N.Y.), previously the top-ranked team in the Northeast.

Mid-Atlantic

Christina Cavallo, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.)

The junior midfielder scored eight goals in three games, all wins, for the Saints last week. Cavallo started and ended the week with three-goal games against Agnes Irwin (Pa.) and Alpharetta (Ga.). She also scored two goals against Episcopal (Pa.). On the year, Cavallo has 25 goals and three assists.

South

Ellie Bromley, Apex (N.C.)

The junior attacker led the Cougars to three more wins to run their record to 8-0 last week. Bromley, who leads the team with 30 goals, had 14 goals, six assists, 25 ground ball ands and won 16 of 17 draw controls in wins over Garner Magnet (N.C.), Apex Friendship (N.C.) and Terry Sanford (N.C.). Bromley scored six goals both of the latter two games.

Midwest

Katherine Burnside, Cathedral (Ind.)

The senior stepped up in a huge way against Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.), scoring 11 goals en route to an 18-4 win. Burnside leads her team with 38 goals in six games. She is committed to Colorado for next year.

West

Isabel Anema, Cherry Creek (Colo.)

The senior totaled 10 goals and one assist last week while helping Cherry Creek to a pair of wins in Virginia. She had seven goals and one assist in a 16-13 win over St. Catherine’s (Va.) and had three goals in a 9-8 win over Collegiate School (Va.).
