On Jan. 25, Stanford will host the U.S. senior and under-19 women’s national teams, as well as England, Japan and Fresno State, for the Team USA Spring Premiere. 

The U.S. senior team welcomes a mix of old and new, including 2013 gold medalist Katrina Dowd and Maryland senior Jen Giles, and will compete against Stanford, led by former U.S. assistant Amy Bokker, and England, which features former Princeton star Olivia Hompe.

While it’s another training weekend for the senior team, the U.S. U19 team will play under pressure. It’s the final opportunity to impress before coach Kelly Amonte Hiller selects the final roster for the 2019 FIL Under-19 Women’s World Championship in Canada. The U19 team will play England’s senior team and Japan’s developmental squad, as well as Stanford.

Team USA’s games on Maloney Field will be streamed Saturday, Jan. 26. Here are six U.S. players to watch.

Senior Women

Sam Apuzzo, A

After recording six points at the Presidents Cup in November, the Boston College star and Tewaaraton winner will have another chance to impress the U.S. coaches.

Taylor Cummings, M

The three-time Tewaaraton winner out of Maryland is now a U.S. veteran after winning gold medals at the FIL World Cup and IWGA World Games in 2017. Her draw prowess stood out at both Team USA Fall Classic and the Presidents Cup.

Kerrigan Miller, M

The USC midfielder returns to Team USA after winning a silver medal with the 2015 U19 team in Scotland. Last year, playing under U.S. two-time gold medalist Lindsey Munday, Miller led the Trojans with 36 goals, 40 caused turnovers and 49 points.

U19 Women

Rachel Hall, G

Hall made 10 saves in two periods, including a shutout fourth quarter, to lead the U.S. U19 training team to an 18-11 victory over Navy in October. The Oregon freshman out of Texas will get an early scout on Pac-12 rival Stanford.

Maddie Jenner, A

Also dominant against Navy, Jenner patrolled the midfield with an impressive 12 draw controls. The 6-foot-2 Duke freshman and McDonogh (Md.) product is the sister of Blue Devil senior standout Olivia Jenner.

Caitlyn Wurzburger, A

Wurzburger has played varsity for American Heritage (Fla.) since eighth grade and is on track to rewrite high school record books, topping 100 goals and 100 assists in each of her first three seasons. The nation’s No. 1 player in the Class of 2020 is committed to North Carolina.
