As we begin our 21st year as the sport’s national governing body, I want to thank you for your support of our mission. As a US Lacrosse member, you enable us to provide national leadership, structure and resources to fuel the sport’s growth and enrich the experience of participants.
The primary focus of US Lacrosse has always been to connect the national lacrosse community and increase youth participation throughout the country. Essential to that goal has been the ongoing investment of your membership dues in the development of resources to expand access, support and strengthen community-based programs and maximize the quality of experience for young players.
In addition to the direct benefits you receive as a member, your membership also funds national strategies and programs that improve the quality of your lacrosse experience, support the community programs that provide opportunities and introduce the sport to tens of thousands of new players, coaches and officials each year.
Here is a sampling of our impact just last year:
-
Awarded more than 1,000 grants, totaling nearly $2 million, to schools and organizations in 49 states, introducing the sport to more than 28,000 children.
-
Committed more than $500,000 to create a safer environment for youth players by including national background screening and SafeSport training as new benefits for member coaches and leagues.
-
Invested more than $150,000 in lacrosse-specific research grants, positioning US Lacrosse as a leader among national governing bodies of sport.
-
Created and funded a new national structure for officiating, which includes 18 regional coordinators and more than 80 state coordinators, to better support local organizations.
-
Launched TryLax, a low-cost introduction to the sport that connects families with community lacrosse programs; 32 TryLax events in 18 states attracted more than 3,100 children to the sport.
-
Expanded our Coach Development Program, hosting more than 120 clinics in dozens of states and training more than 5,000 coaches.
-
Initiated a direct service model to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in increased grant and program support to community youth leagues.
-
SERVED 60 lacrosse programs in underrepresented communities within 23 states with more than $250,000 in resources.
Thank you for being an important investor in our mission, and all the best for a successful and rewarding season!
