Chaminade (N.Y.) and Haverford School (Pa.) are making the most noise in the Nike/US Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25 after each picked up two marquee wins last week.

The No. 5 Flyers swept archrival St. Anthony's (N.Y.) and Ward Melville (N.Y.) to stake their claim as the best team on Long Island this year, while the No. 11 Fords found their groove with consecutive victories over Boys' Latin (Md.) and Malvern Prep (Pa.)

Undefeated Landon (Md.) remains No. 1, but faces a stiff test in IAC rival and No. 6-ranked Bullis (Md.) on Thursday.

The Flyers knocked off rival St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), 12-6, and then secured a hard-earned 7-5 win over Ward Melville (N.Y.). Regan Quinn (Virginia) totaled six goals and an assist in the two wins, while goalie Andrew Bonafede (Duke) recorded 21 total saves. Chaminade faces Fairfield Prep (Conn.) Wednesday. Previous: 5

3. Victor (N.Y.), 4-0

Victor has won 48 straight. The Blue Devils cruised to a pair of wins last week, topping Rush-Henrietta (N.Y.), 22-3, and Penfield (N.Y.), 15-5, and then added a 15-6 win at Hilton (N.Y.) on Monday. Connon Keenan (Fairfield) totaled four goals and five assists in the two wins last week. 4. St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), 4-1

Vito Muso scored three goals for St. Anthony’s in a 12-6 loss to rival Chaminade (N.Y.). The Friars bounced back with a win over Fairfield Prep (Conn.) on Monday but that is just the start of an insanely busy week. They also play St. Dominic (N.Y.), Boys’ Latin (Md.) and Delbarton (N.J.) this week, games that could push them back up in the rankings. Previous: 1

5. Ward Melville (N.Y.), 4-1

The Patriots went 3-1 last week, defeating Northport (N.Y.), 12-8, and Riverhead (N.Y.), 11-5, before dropping a 7-5 loss to Chaminade (N.Y.) and then rebounding to beat West Islip (N.Y.) on Monday. Dom Pryor (Hofstra) totaled six goals and three assists over those first three games. The Patriots are scheduled to play Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.) on Saturday. Previous: 4

6. Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.), 6-0

The Seahawks, the defending Class C state champs, have now won 13 straight games after a 13-4 win over Oyster Bay (N.Y.), a 15-7 win over Bethpage (N.Y.) and a 12-9 win over New Canaan (Conn.) in the last week. Taylor Strough continued his torrid early-season pace, finishing with 10 goals in those first two wins to give him 23 goals and two assists through the first five games. 7. Jamesville-DeWitt (N.Y.), 3-0

The Red Rams went 2-0 last week, topping Churchville-Chili (N.Y.), 16-9, and rival West Genesee (N.Y.), 13-7. Griffin Cook (Syracuse) totaled nine goals and Ryan Archer (Hobart) added six goals and eight assists in the two wins. J-D faces Yorktown (N.Y.) and Auburn (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 7

8. Niskayuna (N.Y.), 3-1

Niskayuna went 2-1 last week, defeating Ballston Spa (N.Y.) 16-7, dropping a 16-9 decision to top-ranked Darien (Conn.) and then bouncing back with a 21-8 win at Columbia (N.Y.). The Silver Warriors play Colonie (N.Y.) on Thursday. Previous: 8

9. New Canaan (Conn.), 1-2

The Rams opened the season with a 9-8 win over Wilton (Conn.) and followed with back-to-back losses to nationally-ranked opponents. They dropped a 13-8 decision to Maryland powerhouse McDonogh on Friday, then lost 12-9 to Cold Spring Harbor on Monday. Graham Braden scored with 11 seconds left to lift the Rams over Wilton, shortly after Wilton’s Liam Rance tied the game at eight with 42 seconds left. The Rams play Brien McMahon-Norwalk (Conn.) on Thursday and Brunswick School (Conn.) on Saturday. Previous: 9

10. Syosset (N.Y.), 5-1

1. Landon (Md.), 9-0

The Bears haven’t even had to sweat out a down-to-the-wire finish yet. They rolled through then-national No. 18 Severn, 11-5, last Tuesday behind six goals from Joey Epstein (Johns Hopkins) and followed with comfortable victories over St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.) and St. John’s (D.C.). They’ll travel to Bullis (Md.) on Thursday for an IAC showdown. Previous: 1

2. McDonogh (Md.), 8-1

The Eagles started a busy week by scoring the final eight goals to rally past Hereford (Md.), 13-8, on April 4. They added a victory over New Canaan (Conn.) in Philadelphia on Friday and another at home over Gonzaga (D.C.) on Monday in their final tune-up for MIAA play. Previous: 2

3. Bullis (Md.), 11-1

The Bulldogs have reeled off four straight wins in quick succession since their loss to McDonogh. The toughest test came Saturday when they held off Loyola-Blakefield (Md.), 5-4, as part of the PNC Lacrosse Invitational at Loyola University. Jonathan Bender scored the game-winner with six minutes, 21 seconds left. Previous: 3

4. St. Paul’s (Md.), 9-1

The Crusaders picked up three wins last week, vaulting coach Rick Brocato past George Mitchell for most victories in program history. He broke the record Saturday with No. 233 in his final season in charge. His squad trailed Bronxville (N.Y.) into the fourth quarter before charging back to win, 8-6. Previous: 6

5. Haverford School (Pa.), 5-2

The Fords figured to be in for some growing pains with a new-look lineup, but they showed last week they’re still powerful as ever. T.J. Malone posted three goals and an assist in Wednesday’s 12-11 upset of then-national No. 8 Boys’ Latin (Md.) and five goals and an assist in Friday’s 15-11 surprise of then-national No. 9 Malvern Prep (Pa.). The Lakers settled for a split last week. Their comeback bid fell short April 4 in a 12-11 loss to Haverford School, but they bounced back to beat Calverton (Md.) on Thursday behind two goals and four assists from Luke Shilling (Johns Hopkins). Previous: 4 

7. La Salle (Pa.), 4-1

Goalie Mike Clibanoff had a big week in lifting the Explorers to a pair of wins. The Ohio State recruit made 20 saves in an 8-6 victory over then-No. 9 Malvern Prep (Pa.) on April 4. He then helped them blank Bonner-Prendergast (Pa.), 18-0, on Friday. They’ll face unbeaten Conestoga (Pa.) on Tuesday. Previous: 10 

8. Delbarton (N.J.), 4-0

The Green Wave continue to look like the team to beat in New Jersey after knocking off Chatham (N.J.), 5-1, and Westfield (N.J.), 12-2, last week. Liam Higgins and Miles Leniw (Yale) are both off to great starts, splitting time in the net. Previous: 8

9. Malvern Prep (Pa.), 6-2

The Friars had their perfect start end last week with losses to then-No. 22 LaSalle and then-No. 16 Haverford School. They managed to avoid further damage to their résumé with an emphatic 16-7 win over Gilman (Md.) on Saturday, powered by five goals from Quinn McCahon (Penn). Previous: 5  

10. Severn (Md.), 8-1

The Admirals missed out on a chance to zoom up this list, falling 11-5 at top-ranked Landon on April. The Bears scored eight of the first 10 goals to squash hopes for an upset. Mike Lamon (Penn) piled up six goals and two assists in Friday’s 15-8 win over Sts. Peter & Paul (Md.).  Previous: 9

1. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 16-1

The Raiders were easy winners in two games on their way to a district championship. They beat South Plantation (Fla.) 21-1 in the semifinal and then beat American Heritage-Plantation (Fla.) 17-7 to win the title. The Raiders play a first-round play-in game in the state tournament against Stoneman Douglas on Thursday. Previous: 1

2. The Woodlands (Texas), 18-0

The Highlanders beat St. Mark’s (Texas) 8-4 to stay unbeaten. They play two teams from Nevada this week, Palo Verde on Tuesday and then Coronado Red. Previous: 2 

3.  Lambert (Ga.), 11-1

The Longhorns were idle last week. They return to the field on Wednesday with a game against North Forsyth (Ga.). Previous: 3

4. Highland Park (Texas), 8-2

The Scots rebounded from their loss to The Woodlands with a 16-8 win over Coppell (Texas). They were scheduled to play West-ranked Bellevue (Wash.) on Monday. The big game is Thursday, when they play Episcopal School Dallas (Texas), 8-0. Previous: 4 

5. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 11-1

8. Ponte Vedra (Fla.), 18-1

The Sharks earned a district title last week, beating Bartram Trail 24-7 in the semifinal and Nease 21-3 in the championship game. Reid Smith led with 10 goals in the two wins. Clay Welch scored eight goals, Jack Burke five, and Matt Keeler four. The Sharks play a first-round state tournament play-in game on Thursday against Fletcher. Previous: 8 

9. St. Andrew’s (Fla.), 15-4

The Scots beat American Heritage-Delray (Fla.) and St. John Paul II (Fla.) to win a district championship. They play a first-round state tournament play-in game Thursday against Oxbridge Academy (Fla.). It should be one of the most competitive play-in games on the schedule. Previous: 10

10. Memphis University School (Tenn.), 9-2

The Owls have won seven straight since starting the season 2-2. They picked up strong wins last week, beating Evangelical (Tenn.) 14-1 and Pope John Paul II (Tenn.) 19-2 to join the rankings. Previous: NR

1. Culver Academy (Ind.), 8-1

Culver solidified its No. 1 ranking on Saturday with a dominating 18-2 win over then No. 4-ranked Brother Rice (Mich.). Jackson Reid had four goals and four assists, and teammate Alex Simmons added five tallies. After a six-game road trip, the Eagles return home Friday to host Everest Academy (Ont.). Previous: 1

2. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 4-0 

The Golden Bears easily defeated Pickerington Central (Ohio) by a 14-1 margin on Thursday before defeating Western Reserve (Ohio) by a 9-6 ledger on Saturday. Upper Arlington’s Jack Dolan, Ohio’s “Mr. Hockey” for 2017, scored four goals against Pickerington Central and had two against Western Reserve. Previous: 2

3. Cathedral (Ind.), 6-2

Led by Yale commit Jack Mattei’s five-goal, two-assist effort, Cathedral defeated Montgomery Bell Academy (Tenn.) by a 12-7 margin on April 3. Cathedral is on a six-game winning streak, with victories over Cincinnati-St. Xavier (Ohio) and Brother Rice (Mich.) in that stretch. Previous: 3

4. Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio), 4-2

After getting rained out Wednesday against unbeaten Mariemont (Ohio), St. Xavier ended a two-game losing streak with a 15-9 win over crosstown rival Moeller. The Bombers’ Duke Alf scored a hat trick in the win. Previous: 6

5. Brother Rice (Mich.), 3-2

Despite Carson Cochran scoring the game’s first goal, Brother Rice had no answer for Culver Prep (Ind.) in an 18-2 loss on Saturday. The loss came four days after Brother Rice handed Detroit Jesuit (Mich.) a season-opening 16-5 defeat. Previous: 4

6. East Grand Rapids (Mich.), 3-0

East Grand Rapids had a bye week following its impressive 17-15 win over Detroit Catholic Central. The Pioneers next return to action on April 13 to host Forest Hills Northern. Previous: 7

7. Detroit Catholic Central (Mich.), 4-1

Detroit Catholic Central topped Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (Mich.) by a 14-8 margin on Wednesday to improve to 4-1. Georgetown recruit Peter Thompson scored four goals and Detroit Mercy prospect Brennan Kamish added three tallies in the win over St. Mary’s. Previous: 8

8. New Trier (Ill.), 4-2

The Trevians arguably have played one of the toughest schedules in the Midwest, facing four teams currently ranked in the top 10 in the Midwest. Last week, New Trier travelled to Missouri and grabbed a pair of wins at DeSmet Jesuit and MICDS. Nelson Gaechter led all New Trier scorers with four tallies. Previous: NR

9. MICDS (Mo.), 5-3

After MICDS handed Lafayette (Mo.) its first loss of the year on Wednesday, the Rams dropped a tough 9-8 decision to New Trier (Ill.) on Saturday. The Rams opened O’Hara Field, a new 1,000-seat venue named after a pair of former players, against Lafayette. Previous: 5

10. DeSmet Jesuit (Mo.), 7-3

After a convincing 20-1 victory over six-loss Ladue (Mo.) on April 4, DeSmet Jesuit fell short on April 9 in an 8-6 loss against New Trier (Ill.). Daniel Kinzel had five goals in DeSmet’s win over Ladue. Previous: 9

1. La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 8-1

The Mavericks take the top spot after collecting two more big wins last week, as they remain unbeaten versus in-state opponents. First, they won 13-7 against a red hot San Ramon Valley (Calif.) squad that was just coming off an upset of former No. 1 Torrey Pines, then they followed with a 14-7 victory over ranked Corona del Mar (Calif.). Andrew Beacham had two goals and four assists against SRV. Previous: 3 

2. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 11-1

The Falcons had survived every big test until last week’s slipup against San Ramon Valley (Calif.) when they fell 8-7 in overtime April 4 after trailing 6-0 at the half. Prior to that, they had beaten five ranked teams. Torrey Pines bounced back from the loss to beat Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) 17-7 on Saturday and now head to Colorado for a three-game slate. 3. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), 9-1

The Wildcats went 3-0 last week, most notably beating Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.) 15-7 on Saturday. Bryn Evans finished with four goals, while Payton St. Geme and Topher Bligh each tallied three goals and two assists to lead St. Ignatius to its seventh straight victory. Previous: 2

4. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 10-2

The Wolves join the rankings after their upset win over Torrey Pines on April 4, but remain below the Falcons with losses to the other two top-three teams, including a 13-7 loss to La Costa Canyon the next day. SRV got the 8-7 victory over TP on Jered Kenny’s game-winner in overtime, his third tally of the night in a game in which six players scored goals. The Wolves held Torrey Pines to its lowest offensive output of the season, as Cole French collected 10 saves. Previous: NR

5. Regis Jesuit (Colo.), 4-2

The Raiders bounced back from their two losses in California to beat Rocky Mountain (Colo.) 13-6 in their lone game of the week before Monday’s scheduled game against Denver South (Colo.). Anders Erickson led the way with five points on four goals and one assist, while Jake Taylor also finished with four goals. P.J. Offner, who played in goal the second half, gave up four goals but finished with 11 saves. Previous: 4  

6. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 5-1

Coming off a 15-day layoff, the Bruins collected a pair of wins in consecutive days. They earned a notable 12-7 win over Mountain Vista (Colo.) on Friday and breezed past Cherokee Trail (Colo.), 17-6, on Saturday. Asher Nolting had five goals and three assists in the Mountain Vista game. A date with Torrey Pines approaches Wednesday. Previous: 5

7. Poway (Calif.), 12-2

The Titans added three more wins last week, including with an 11-7 win over Monte Vista-Danville (Calif.), which finished as the top team in the West last year. Sophomore Eli Butler led all scorers with three goals, while LSM Kobe Brown paced the defense with five caused turnovers and nine groundballs. Freshman Teagan Bultman (Brown) won 15 of 21 faceoffs, and junior Kellan Cutting had eight saves in the cage. Previous: 8

8. Bellevue (Wash.), 11-1

The Wolverines weren’t punished much for their 9-7 loss to Texas powerhouse Dallas Jesuit on Saturday, following an 11-0 start to the season, which included four wins over out-of-state competition. They were scheduled to play another top Texas team Monday, at Highland Park, before concluding their trip South on Tuesday against Plano West (Texas). Andrew Kelly tallied five goals in a 19-1 win over Bothell (Wash.) on April 4. Previous: 6

9. Corona del Mar (Calif.), 8-2

The Sea Kings couldn’t keep up with thriving La Costa Canyon in a 14-7 loss Friday, but they did add two wins earlier in the week to bounce back from an April 1 defeat at the hands of Torrey Pines. CdM plays at Sacred Heart (Calif.) on Tuesday.  Previous: 7 

10. Columbine (Colo.), 7-0

The Rebels join the rankings after a quick start, as they haven’t given up more than nine goals and have scored in double figures in every game. That includes a pair of out-of-state wins, one against Arizona’s Brophy Prep, which is 9-2. Columbine is fourth in the state in goal margin, beating their opponents by 8.7 goals per game.
