Fracyon, Eccleston, Boyden are USA Lacrosse Men's Players of the Week

This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition. Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

JACK FRACYON, PENN STATE

Penn State is very much a thing, and Jack Fracyon is very much a reason why. The sophomore goalie was sturdy against Cornell last weekend, making 16 saves and keeping last year’s NCAA runner up to just six goals in a 10-6 Nittany Lions win. Fracyon and the entire Penn State defense held the Big Red to 15-percent shooting. Cornell netted just two first-half goals before netting four in the third period. But Penn State hunkered down to shut the Big Red out in the final 15 minutes.

DIVISION II

TORON ECCLESTON, LENOIR-RHYNE

The 6-4 senior attackman from Calgary netted a sock trick in the Bears’ 20-11 win over Florida Tech. It was his seventh game in a row with at least one goal and his sixth game with two or more goals. His six goals against Florida Tech were crucial, too. He gave the Bears a 4-3 lead that they wouldn’t look back from, then he scored three goals late that iced the win.

DIVISION III

JACK BOYDEN, TUFTS

In a game full of high scorers, senior attackman Jack Boyden rose above the others. He registered 13 points, including nine of the team’s 10 assists, in a 23-21 win over Amherst. His nine assists tied for the second-most in a game in program history, and his 13 points tied the program record for the most in a single game.
