John Crawley has been tabbed as the next head coach of High Point, according to Matt Chandik of the National Lacrosse Federation.
Crawley confirmed his hiring to Kevin Brown of Inside Lacrosse. High Point has scheduled a press conference for 3 p.m. Friday to announce Crawley as the successor to Jon Torpey, who took the head job at Brown last month.
This will be the first head coaching gig for Crawley, who spent time at Lehigh for three years before joining his alma mater for the last two seasons.
One of the top young offensive coordinators in the sport, Crawley, 29, is a 2017 Johns Hopkins graduate. He has significant professional experience in Major League Lacrosse and with the New York Atlas of the Premier Lacrosse League.
Kenny DeJohn has been the Digital Content Editor at USA Lacrosse since 2019. First introduced to lacrosse in 2016 as a Newsday Sports reporter on Long Island (yes, ON Long Island), DeJohn specializes in women's game coverage. His search for New York quality pizza in Baltimore is ongoing.
