This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition. Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

COULTER MACKESY, PRINCETON

Who had a Princeton drubbing of Yale on their bingo card? The 23-10 waxing of the Bulldogs quite literally started with Coulter Mackesy. After Princeton went down 1-0, Mackesy scored the next five goals of the game — two on the EMO — and finished his career day with eight goals and two assists. Mackesy needed just three quarters to produce that stat line, by the way. Mackesy did all his damage on 13 shots and only turned the ball over once, helping Princeton get the type of win that could turn around its season.

DIVISION II

SETH BENEDICT, LE MOYNE

Another weekend, another player of the week award for a Dolphin. Benedict dropped three goals and six assists in Le Moyne’s 13-9 win over Southern New Hampshire. The junior from Stanley, N.Y., entered the game with just eight points, more than doubling his season total to 17 with his performance. The nine points he produced against Southern New Hampshire were also one more than the eight points he totaled between 2021 and 2022 combined.

DIVISION III

PATRICK FITZGERALD, BOWDOIN

Bowdoin notched a quality win with a 14-9 victory over Wesleyan last week. Fitzgerald scored five goals and added one assist to lead all scorers. Fitzgerald and preseason All-American Will Byrne are now tied for the team lead with 29 points. Fitzgerald, a sophomore who also plays on the Bowdoin hockey team, produced 53 goals and 16 assists as a freshman.
