4 New Teams in Top 10 of WCLA Division I Top 20
The final week of the regular season, which included league championship games, yielded significant movement in the newest WCLA Division I Top 20, released Wednesday. While the top five, headed by undefeated Boston College Club at No. 1, remains unchanged, the top 10 welcomed four new teams.
No. 7 Michigan Club jumped five spots after winning the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse League championship, while No. 8 San Diego State Club made a similar leap, moving up 10 spots, after claiming the Western Women’s Lacrosse League title. Runner-up finishes in league championship tournaments also vaulted No. 9 Florida Club and No. 10 UCLA back into the top 10.
BC Club (14-0) is the only remaining undefeated team heading into next month’s WCLA Championship Tournament. BC carries a 30-game winning streak, dating back to the start of the 2022 campaign, into the national championship event, May 9-12 in Virginia Beach. Team selections and seedings for the championship tournament will be announced later today.
No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Pitt Club, No. 4 Virginia Tech Club and No. 5 Colorado Club round out the top five.
