For the first time in program history, Boise State holds the top spot in the WCLA Division II Top 20. The Broncos were ninth in the preseason, but jumped to the top in the first regular season ranking on the strength of a 5-0 start. Three of those victories have come against ranked teams.
The first regular season ranking of the year features many significant changes from the preseason poll. Four of this week’s top six teams and seven clubs overall were unranked in the preseason Top 20.
Defending national champion New Hampshire Club, ranked No. 1 in the preseason, falls to 12th in the first regular season poll. The Wildcats are off to a 3-3 start, which includes an early-season split with No. 14 Providence, its Northeast Women’s Lacrosse League rival.
Vermont Club, which placed third in the country last year and was No. 2 in the 2024 preseason, has dropped seven spots. The Catamounts are 3-1 overall, including a win over New Hampshire.
Undefeated teams rule the top of this week’s ranking, with No. 2 Cal Poly, No. 3 CSU San Marcos, No. 4 Charleston, and No. 5 Missouri sporting a combined 31-0 record thus far.
