Boyle, Johnson, Smart are USA Lacrosse Women's Players of the Week

This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition.

Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

Chase Boyle, Loyola

Loyola has another draw dynamo on its hands, with the work of assistant coach Dana Dobbie paying off yet again. Boyle, a junior, corralled 15 draw controls to go with six goals in a win over Penn State on Saturday, giving her 42 draw controls in a 4-0 start for Loyola.

The scoring has been there, too. It was her second straight game with six goals, and she has 18 goals and three assists so far this season.

DIVISION II

Kristyn Johnson, Lynn

Johnson, a junior attacker, set new Sunshine State Conference records for goals and points in a single game, tallying 10 goals and 13 points in a 27-17 win at Virginia-Wise. Lynn, 3-1 overall, also set a new team record for most goals in a game. Johnson currently ranks third in the SSC with 4.25 goals per game and 6.25 points per game.

DIVISION III

Emily Smart, Stevens

On Wednesday, Smart set a Stevens single-game record with nine assists and finished a 2-0 week with 14 points to secure Player of the Week honors. The junior from Haddonfield, N.J., has also been a pass-first, distributing attacker, and she put those skills to work last week.
