Colgate has hired Alyssa Guido to be its next women’s lacrosse coach.
The associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Drexel for the last three years, Guido inherits a Raiders team that has not posted a winning season since 2018. She replaces Kathy Taylor, who left the school with two years remaining on her contract.
“From the start of the search process, Alyssa's enthusiasm, passion for the sport of lacrosse, and commitment to the student-athlete experience was palpable,” Colgate athletic director Yariv Amir said in an announcement Thursday. “We are excited about the vision she brings to the women's lacrosse program and having her lead the team into the next chapter.”
Guido was part of a staff that guided Drexel to three straight NCAA tournaments during her time in Philadelphia. Prior to that, she was an assistant at Holy Cross, which like Colgate competes in the Patriot League.
Guido was the head coach at Division III SUNY Maritime for two years, earning Skyline Coach of the Year honors in 2019. She played at Stony Brook and professionally for the Philadelphia Force of the United Women’s Lacrosse League. She’s also an assistant coach for the Philippines women’s national team.
