Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. A seven-game Division I women’s slate highlighted Thursday’s action.
Three ACC contests saw the favorites come out unscathed, while Northwestern doubled up Michigan in the Big Ten. Arguably the game of the night came between Navy and Jacksonville, with Leelee Denton scoring what proved to be the winning goal with 7:33 left in the game.
Navy is now 6-2 after the win over the Dolphins, a game in which the sides were tied at the end of every quarter.

2. Kendyl Clarkson has been relieved of her duties as head coach of Youngstown State.
Clarkson coached Tuesday’s win over Gardner-Webb, but athletic director Ron Strollo told WFMJ 21 that she is no longer in charge of the program. He added that he could not comment specifically on personnel matters. Halle Kotulock is now the team’s head coach.
3. Three women’s lacrosse legends have been named to the IWLCA Hall of Fame.
Kelly Amonte Hiller (Northwestern), Chris Paradis (Amherst) and Chris Mason (Williams) will be inducted during the IWLCA Convention in November. The Class of 2023 is the sixth class of honorees inducted into the Hall.
4. Honoring Brendan Looney will be a theme when Navy plays Johns Hopkins on Friday.
Both Garrett Degnon (Hopkins) and Kyle Fairbanks (Navy) wear No. 40 in Looney’s honor, and they’ll share the field Friday looking to do the former Navy player proud. Looney, a Navy lieutenant and special warfare officer, died Sept. 9, 2010, in a Black Hawk helicopter crash in Afghanistan.
5. John Raba earned win No. 300 earlier this week.
Raba, who is in his 27th season at Wesleyan reached the milestone with his team’s 19-7 win over Salve Regina on Wednesday. He ranks No. 14 in career wins among all active NCAA men’s lacrosse coaches and ninth among all active Division III coaches.
