This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition.
Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.
Nicole Perroni, Louisville
Perroni did a little bit of everything to lift Louisville to its first-ever ACC tournament victory. She paced the Cardinals with four goals and one assist, plus she contributed four ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls.
The graduate student has made her presence felt all over the field with 40-plus goals, 40-plus ground balls and 40-plus caused turnovers this season.
Sydney Tiemann, Maryville
Tiemann had 15 goals and four assists in a 2-0 week for Maryville, and she is now on the precipice of history. With 309 career goals, she is one away from tying the all-time Division II record set by Hunter Isnardi of Mercy.
Tiemann plays in the GLVC semifinals on Friday at noon against Quincy.
Gillian Cortese, Gettysburg
Cortese made 15 saves in a massive win over Franklin & Marshall, then followed with four saves in one half of play against Ursinus. Cortese has saved 50-percent of shots on goal or better in each of the past four games.
Kenny DeJohn has been the Digital Content Editor at USA Lacrosse since 2019. First introduced to lacrosse in 2016 as a Newsday Sports reporter on Long Island (yes, ON Long Island), DeJohn specializes in women's game coverage. His search for New York quality pizza in Baltimore is ongoing.
