Welcome back, ACC play.

As conference foes took the field last weekend, offensive fireworks followed. The opening week of ACC competition featured everything from a Syracuse masterclass at Pitt to an upstart Clemson program nearly upsetting Notre Dame.

This week’s Women’s Tewaaraton Stock Watch features three ACC attackers in the top five — Meaghan Tyrrell, Jenn Medjid and Kayla Martello. All three have dominated this season and continued to shine with multi-goal performances last weekend. All in all, eight out of the top 15 players highlighted in this article compete in the ACC. Talk about dominance.

1. Izzy Scane, A, Northwestern

Northwestern had a calm weekend after going through the gauntlet against Syracuse, Notre Dame and Boston College. The Wildcats easily handled Marquette, with Scane’s eight goals powering a 21-14 victory. Posting 27 goals in four games, Scane looks unstoppable — and it’s only the first week of March. She leads the country with 6.75 goals per game and has been a weapon in transition.

2. Meaghan Tyrrell, A, Syracuse

Tyrrell had a relatively quiet game against Pitt on Friday, tallying two assists. But that brought her total to 18 and a nation-leading average of 4.5 per game. Tyrrell has been a vital playmaker for the Orange –– her assists total makes that clear. While she had a quiet game against the Panthers, Tyrrell remains on the list because of her sheer dominance and craftiness on offense. Continue to expect great things from the Syracuse star.

3. Jenn Medjid, A, Boston College

Medjid played a central role in Boston College’s 17-8 rout of Duke. The Long Island product anchored the Eagles’ attack with a game-high seven points, including four goals and three assists. Medjid has paced BC’s potent offense, tallying 17 points through three games. She ranks ninth in the country in goals per game. Medjid missed the UMass game due to injury, but she appears to be just fine now.

4. Kayla Martello, A, Boston College

Martello has carved out a role for herself within the Eagles’ new-look attack. She was also key to Boston College’s victory against Duke, posting a game-high five goals. She leads the Eagles with 16 goals and ranks 11th nationally in goals per game. Martello warmed up with two goals in the season opener against USC, and since then, she has scored at least four goals in every game.

5. Ellie Masera, M, Stony Brook

Stony Brook has played two games this season –– two fewer than some of its nationally ranked peers. But Masera has shined in both contests, tallying seven goals and nine draw controls. A stellar two-way player, Masera has also produced two caused turnovers and three ground balls. There’s no doubt Masera will play a central role as the Seawolves’ season heats up with matchups against ranked foes Stanford and Northwestern in the coming weeks.

Next Five: Belle Smith, M, Boston College; Sarah Reznick, G, Florida; Emma LoPinto, A, Florida; Kasey Choma, M, Notre Dame; Libby May, A, Maryland

Five to monitor: Caitlyn Wurzburger, A, North Carolina; Rachel Clark, A, Virginia; Isabella Peterson, A, James Madison; Lacey Bartholomay, GK, Army West Point; Maddie Jenner, A/Draw, Duke
