Dave Pietramala is synonymous Johns Hopkins lacrosse.
Pietramala became one of the best defenders in the history of the sport while playing at Homewood Field in the late 1980s, helping Hopkins win the 1987 NCAA championship. He learned plenty about himself during that time and cherished the people he met at Johns Hopkins. Years later, he came back to the program as head coach of the Blue Jays.
And just like he did as a player, Pietramala made his mark for 20 seasons at the helm of the team. He led the Blue Jays to six final fours and NCAA titles in 2005 and 2007, helping revitalize the historic program.

Last week, Johns Hopkins announced it was mutually parting ways with Pietramala after nearly two decades. The news ushered in new eras for both Johns Hopkins and Pietramala.
Pietramala, a fiery competitor, knows he'll be back on a sideline soon. He shared his reaction to the past week and reflected on his career with Paul Carcaterra in the latest episode of "Overtime."
