Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Maryland clinched at least a share of the Big Ten women’s lacrosse regular season title with a 17-13 victory at Northwestern on Thursday.
The game was delayed by more than an hour and moved indoors to Ryan Field due to weather. Upon restarting, the second-ranked Terps scored three straight goals to break a 12-12 tie. Jen Giles and Caroline Steele (five goals) scored unassisted just 41 seconds apart, and then Brindi Griffin made it 15-12 with 7:11 remaining.
Selena Lasota pulled the fifth-ranked Wildcats within two with her game-high sixth goal, but Erica Evans (four goals) and Kali Hartshorn put it out of reach for the Terps. Maryland, which came back from 3-0 and 7-4 deficits, improved to 15-0 (5-0 Big Ten).
2. Lindsey Ronbeck tied a single-season school record with eight goals, as No. 17 Florida defeated Jacksonville 19-13 on the road Thursday.
3. Colorado Mesa issued a statement regarding its men’s lacrosse team’s much talked about 52-0 win over Johnson & Wales—a game in which the Mavericks averaged nearly a goal per minute, won 53 of 56 faceoffs and outshot the Wildcats 81-0.
Bryan Rooks, the school’s co-athletic director, stated that CMU “takes full responsibility for our role in the game's outcome and the unsportsmanlike nature of the final score” and apologized “to our fans and the people who love the game of lacrosse. We also offer our apologies to the players — both Mavericks and Wildcats. They deserve better.”
The statement said CMU is working with the team’s coaching staff to establish “triggers and thresholds” to prevent such occurrences in the future.
4. In a case of subtraction by addition, the Tewaaraton Foundation on Thursday announced that it had added 17 players — six men and 11 women — to the Tewaaraton Watch Lists just two weeks before it will pare the field down to 25 players per gender. Among the additions are four freshmen: Johns Hopkins’ Joey Epstein, Penn’s Sam Handley, Loyola’s Chase Scanlan and Northwestern’s Izzy Scane.
5. WPLL standout and US Lacrosse Magazine columnist Lauren Murray penned her latest piece, “Redefining the Female Athlete, to Feel Free to Define Herself,” containing valuable insights and inspiration from many of the top players in the women’s game.
6. Sisters Jacelyn and Mimi Lazore of IMG Academy and Keuka College graduate Jade Haumann offered their perspectives on what it means to be Native American in this sport, as portrayed in the April edition of US Lacrosse Magazine.

Rob Pannell for the win on Throwback Thursday.
Till this day my uncle still tells me he thought this play right here was going to be the highlight of my lacrosse career. We beat Ward Melville 6-5 in OT. I was a junior in HS, short, not strongest or fastest, not recruited. I just had a dream to play in the Final Four one day. pic.twitter.com/iDNtP0JvAH
