Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. It’s a light weekend in men’s professional lacrosse with the Premier Lacrosse League taking the weekend off before next week’s playoffs begin in Columbus, Ohio and Major League Lacrosse playing just two games.
The big game of the weekend is Boston playing at Denver. Both teams sit at 7-5, one-half game behind league-leading Chesapeake. The game will be played Saturday at 5 p.m. (Eastern) and carried on ESPN+.
The other MLL game of the weekend pits New York, losers of five straight, against Dallas, winners of six straight. Phil Shore took a look at what went wrong for the Lizards this season.
2. Chris Hogan did it almost a decade ago and now Maryland star Jared Berhnardt is looking to follow the Pat Spencer move — chasing a dream in another sport after finishing up his lacrosse career. The Maryland senior attackman will pursue a graduate season in football in 2020 after playing lacrosse for the Terps this spring.
