Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Our September/October cover story features the U.S. men’s national team’s journey to becoming the 2018 FIL gold medalists.
It was on the 10th day, in the seventh game and 560th minute and with one second remaining in the FIL World Championship, that Tom Schreiber etched his name in lacrosse lore.
“A team had to make a play, and we were the ones to make it,” Matt Danowski said. “The game was won. It wasn’t given to us.”
Read how the U.S. became a team of destiny from a players-only retreat to two weeks on “the kibbutz” in Israel. Plus, take a flip through the pages of this issue’s digital edition.
“You don’t need wooden lockers to compete in a lacrosse game. You don’t need chartered airplane trips. You just need a bunch of guys who love each other and love playing the game.” — @USAMLax coach @danowski_john
