Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The Chase Scanlan era at Syracuse officially begins today when the Orange host Colgate in a nationally-televised game on the ACC Network at 4 p.m. KJ Edelman profiled Scanlan in the November issue of US Lacrosse Magazine.
More recently, Arabdho Majumder of The Daily Orange wrote about the legacy of the No. 22 jersey, which Scanlan will wear this season after no one donned the jersey the last two years.
“You gotta understand something: Gait’s the greatest player to ever play the sport,” Carcaterra said. “He left Syracuse as the greatest college player ever, so if his number was 51, that would have been the number.”

2. Tim McCormack’s hire at Arizona State and Danielle Spencer’s move to Stanford has further stretched Kelly Amonte Hiller’s coaching tree. Four of the six Pac-12 head coaches coached under Amonte Hiller at Northwestern.
3. Duke coach John Danowski won’t dwell on a season-opening loss to Air Force. Patrick Stevens with the D-I notebook.
4. Cabrini won the NCAA Division III men’s lacrosse championship last year. Can the Cavaliers repeat? Previewing the 2020 season.
5. Wow – heavy rains at Limestone, but the Saints are still ready to open the 2020 season against Lees-McRae.
No shot today! Come back next week for #TheShot.
