1. He’s still got it. The reigning Major League Champions, the Denver Outlaws, opened their home schedule last night and 44-year-old John Grant Jr. put on a show with four goals, including this one-handed shot through the legs.

Brendan Kavanagh also scored four times and Zach Currier had three goals and three assists as the Outlaws beat the Dallas Rattlers 15-9 to improve to 3-1, a half-game behind league-leading Boston (3-0).
2. A team of Women’s Professional Lacrosse League players, including 2017 World Cup champion Megan Douty, begins a three-game exhibition series against the English national team tonight.

3. Sabrina Cristodero, a two-year starting defedner at Florida who has 202 draw controls and was named first team all-league in the American Athletic Conference this spring, is transferring to Hofstra.
4. Our way early rankings for NCAA Division II women’s lacrosse include Tampa at No. 6.
5. The US Lacrosse Nationals, featuring 52 teams from 17 states in four brackets this July, will feature all four championship games streamed on Lax Sports Network.

Newsday released its All-Long Island high school teams and a pair of U.S. team players were named as the players of the year. Kasey Choma, a Notre Dame signee from Eastport-South Manor and a member of the 2019 U.S. U19 team, was named as the girls’ winner and Brennan O’Neill, a Duke commit from St. Anthony’s who earlier this week advanced to the top 50 in the 2020 U.S. U19 team tryouts, was the boys’ receipient.
