1. Emily Hawryschuk is out for the season.
A likely finalist for the Tewaaraton Award, Syracuse fifth-year attacker Emily Hawryschuk announced yesterday she will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury. US Lacrosse Magazine first reported that Hawryschuk's injury was to her ACL.
The announcement, which Hawryschuk made via her social media accounts, ended on a hopeful note. “#51 is not signing off just yet.”

2. Boston College has its North star.
Despite not picking up a lacrosse stick until the seventh grade, Charlotte North has turned into one of the most electric players in the sport. 3. “Everything is flexible at this point.”

4. Welcome back, fans.
Upcoming games in the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University will feature a welcome sight: fans. The university announced yesterday that up to 900 students will be allowed to attend the men’s team’s contest against Vermont on Saturday.
“Priority will be given to students who are already season ticket holders, all of whom will be required to test negative for COVID-19 within 24 hours of the event as well as an additional 15-minute rapid test immediately prior to entry,” the statement reads.
5. Title IX changed sports forever.
As a part of our celebration of Women’s History Month, US Lacrosse Magazine republished a story from the June 2012 issue that examined the impact and legacy of Title IX on women’s lacrosse.
