1. North Carolina moved to 6-0 on Thursday night with a 19-7 win over Louisville. Jamie Ortega dropped seven goals to lead the Tar Heels, which are playing like the top team in women’s lacrosse.

Also in action Thursday, Stony Brook got past Towson 13-8 behind eight points from Taryn Ohlmiller.

2. The Premier Lacrosse League named Rachel DeCecco as the head of PLL Academy.
The news comes weeks after DeCecco left her post as senior vice president with the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League, which she helped launch in 2017. More on the announcement here.
3. Connor Fields, meet Connor Fields
Lacrosse fans know the former Albany great turned pro lacrosse star, but he connected with his name twin on social media. The other Connor Fields is a world-famous BMX rider, and the two might meet sometime soon. More on the connection here.

4. New Trier (Ill.) tops the Midwest regional High School Girls’ Top 10.
With All-American midfielders Charley Meier and Claudia Shevitz, New Trier looks to improve on a 21-1-2 record in 2019.
5. Culver (Ind.) brings back a talented roster, and as a result, it leads the High School Boys’ Midwest Top 10.
6. UMass has been unpredictable to start the season, but the Minutemen “went for it” en route to a 13-10 upset win over Yale last weekend.

Also from Stevens, the pieces are coming together for a Dartmouth team that’s 3-0 to start the season and more on Bucknell’s Will Yorke, who dialed up nine goals in a win over Marist last weekend.
7. Richmond women’s lacrosse just notched their first win over Virginia in school history, allowing the Spiders to jump to No. 12 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20.
