Good morning. Here's the latest from the lacrosse world:
1. The new era begins.
Three months after winning the world championship, the U.S. women begin their quest for another world championship at the Fall Classic with some familiar faces and a hungry bunch of players aiming for their first taste of gold.
2. Extreme Makeover – Dome edition.
Syracuse went 4-10 in Gary Gait’s first year as the head coach at his alma mater. The Orange will have a significantly different look in year two.
3. A day to celebrate the mentors.
Lots of schools paid tribute to their coaches on National Coaches Day and the University of Maryland honored one of its alums, the late Hall of Famer Richie Moran.
On #nationalcoachesday we honor 1960 graduate Richie Moran, a legendary person and one of the greatest lacrosse coaches of all time. #bethebest #itsgreattobehere #rm pic.twitter.com/NvEyZp16pU
