Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The PLL is down to four.
Whipsnakes LC has won two of the three Premier Lacrosse League championships to this point and is the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, but there are real challengers as the league gets set for Sunday’s semifinals. The Whips play the Waterdogs on ABC on Sunday at 1 p.m. while last year’s champion Chaos plays the Archers in the second semifinal.
2. Boston strong.
Maryland and North Carolina topped our early women’s lacrosse rankings, but with five straight trips to the national championship game, Boston College can’t be written off — especially with Jenn Medjid back after a 100-point season and all-everything midfielder Belle Smith in the fold.
3. Hofstra’s Cara Scanio has turned her own grief into helping others get through theirs.
Cara Scanio’s mother died a year after being diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer. Her family was overwhelmed with support at its darkest time and now they’re paying it forward.
4. A special day at USA Lacrosse.
We’re honored to welcome Shootout for Soldiers to USA Lacrosse headquarters this weekend for their final event of 2022.
