Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Even though it was a lacrosse-free weekend, there’s still plenty of PLL to discuss.
The “Fate of a Sport” documentary is now available to stream on ESPN+ (subscription required). The film, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, details the birth of the Premier Lacrosse League and follows brothers Paul and Mike Rabil through the league’s development.
You can watch the film here.
If you don’t have ESPN+, the film will broadcast on ESPN on September 15 and ABC before the league’s championship game on September 18.
2. The PLL also announced its award finalists, highlighted by a wide-open MVP race.
Who will take home the league’s Jim Brown MVP Award? It comes down to Kyle Bernlohr, Tom Schreiber, Lyle Thompson and Trevor Baptiste, all of whom have had stellar seasons.
The finalists for each award were announced on Twitter on Friday. Follow the links below to see who they are.

3. Sam Swart has hit the ground running in field hockey.
The speedy Syracuse midfielder is playing field hockey in her fifth year in the Dome after a summer representing the red, white and blue at The World Games in Sixes.
She was a substitute and scored once on her only shot in a 5-0 win over Sacred Heart on Friday, also recording an assist in her first game action since high school at Archbishop Carroll (Pa.). Swart notched another assist in the team’s next game, a 6-0 win over Vermont.
4. Jared Bernhardt was quiet on Saturday.
In the Atlanta Falcons’ final preseason game, Bernhardt caught one pass for 14 yards. Only two Falcons caught multiple passes in a game in which Atlanta quarterbacks finished 14-for-22.
We’ll likely learn Bernhardt’s fate soon, as the NFL preseason ended Sunday. The first game of the new year is Thursday, September 8, but the Falcons don’t play until Sunday, September 11.
