1. Whipsnakes LC clinched a spot in the Premier Lacrosse League playoffs with a thoroughly dominating 17-4 victory over Redwoods LC on Sunday night in Hamilton, Ontario. Matt Rambo had four goals and three assists and Kyle Bernlohr made 11 saves.
The Whipsnakes (6-3) are one game behind league-leading Chaos LC (7-2), while Archers LC, Atlas LC and Redwoods LC are all tied at 4-5. Only two of those last three will move on to the playoffs. The final regular season games of the season will be held this weekend in Albany, N.Y.

2. Zed Williams’ overtime goal gave Boston a 12-11 victory over Chesapeake and moved the Cannons into a tie atop the Major League Lacrosse standings with Bayhawks. Both teams are 7-4, one-half game ahead of Atlanta (7-5). The Blaze stayed close as Bryan Cole’s overtime goal gave Atlanta a 14-13 win over Long Island.

3. The first US Lacrosse National Teams Development Program Combine gets underway today at US Lacrosse. John Galloway is the director of the boys’ combine and Caitlyn Phipps is the director of the girls’ combine.
