Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The NLL opened its season this past weekend – and the buzz never left Philly. More than 11,000 fans attended the Wings’ opener for the league’s biggest attendance in Week 1.
“It was amazing, the amount of energy the fans produced,” rookie forward Chris Cloutier said.
WEEK 1 SCORES
Buffalo Bandits 17, Philadelphia Wings 15
Georgia Swarm 16, New England Black Wolves 12
Vancouver Warriors 14, Calgary Roughnecks 13
Despite the 17-15 loss to Buffalo, the Wings proved they could hang, boosted by a 25-of-35 faceoff performance from Trevor Baptiste despite chipping his tooth.
“For our first foray back into it, I think it was a pretty good game,” coach and general manager Paul Day said.
