Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The first full weekend of the college lacrosse weekend came and went with a few key results. No women’s result was bigger than UMass’s upset of then-No. 5 Boston College. Naturally, the Eagles will slide in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20, to be released later today. Read up on a busy Saturday here.
2. The Maryland men nearly fell to Richmond, but the Terps were bailed out by Anthony DeMaio in overtime. Jared Bernhardt sent the game to overtime after scoring the final two goals of regulation. For more on Saturday’s men’s action — including Army’s dominating performance against UMass — head here.
3. Friday night’s men’s schedule was light, but there was plenty to talk about. Nothing more prominent than Chase Scanlan’s Syracuse debut, a win over Colgate in which he scored seven goals — the most by a player in his ‘Cuse debut. Read about that, and Navy’s win in Joe Amplo’s debut, here.
4. Duke coaching legend Kerstin Kimel became the seventh Division I women’s lacrosse coach to reach 300 wins when the Blue Devils crushed Gardner-Webb on Friday, 22-7. Also Friday, Northwestern scored 30 (yes, thirty) goals. Read about it here.
5. In non-college action, the NLL wrapped up Week 11. Here are the scores:
Buffalo 15, Vancouver 8
Saskatchewan 9, Colorado 7
Calgary 13, New York 9
Toronto 13, Buffalo 9
Vancouver 11, Rochester 10

Payton Cormier — from his knees! — cracked SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays.
Coming in at No. 10 on #SCTop10 was Payton Cormier's nifty unassited third-quarter goal, which gave the redshirt freshman a hat-trick in his collegiate debut. #GoHoos pic.twitter.com/6P1xaNz5hx
