1. The New England Black Wolves entered the loss column for the first time this season, falling to the Georgia Swarm 11-10. Miles Thompson scored the overtime game-winner for the Swarm (3-2), which got three goals and four assists from Shayne Jackson.

The Philadelphia Wings (5-1) continued their hot streak with a 14-6 win over the New York Riptide (1-7) in which Brett Hickey scored five goals and Myles Jones made his NLL debut.
The San Diego Seals (over New York) and Buffalo Bandits (over Colorado) also picked up wins this weekend. Read our Week 9 NLL notebook by Jack Goods for more.

2. The lacrosse community remembers Gene Corrigan, the National Lacrosse Hall of Famer and collegiate athletics pioneer, who died late Friday. He was 91.
Corrigan, the father of Notre Dame coach Kevin Corrigan, was a two-time All-American lacrosse player at Duke (1950-51). He coached at St. Paul’s School (Md.) (1952-55), Washington and Lee (1955-58) and Virginia (1958-67) before moving on to a career in administration, eventually serving as NCAA president.

4. Princeton women’s lacrosse will try to rebuild a Top-25 defense for the 2020 season. It could be key to the Tigers' success in the Ivy League and beyond.
Princeton checks in at No. 6 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20.
5. Notre Dame men’s lacrosse has been consistently competitive for over a decade, but hasn’t made it to the NCAA title game since 2015. Coach Kevin Corrigan and his staff have brought in talented underclassmen that will pair with Tewaaraton candidate Bryan Costabile in 2020.
Always a factor, the Irish sit at No. 6 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Men’s Top 20.
6. Williams men’s lacrosse tops the Division III men’s lacrosse rankings thanks to the contributions from players like 6-foot-6 bulldozer Brendan Hoffman.
Hoffman, who scored 74 points in 2019, will be key for the Ephs as they look for a national title.
7. The news of Kobe Bryant’s tragic death rocked the sports community on Sunday.
Bryant’s influence spanned beyond basketball. Some of lacrosse’s biggest names share their thoughts on the Lakers legend.
Just yesterday, Kobe was greeting young high school lacrosse players being trained at the Mamba Sports Academy by @KyleHarrison18.

Always say “I love you” when leaving the ones you love. Never go to bed angry. Be sure that the people you care about always know how much you care. You never know when they could be taken from you. RIP Mamba and your beautiful daughter Gianna.

So sad to hear about Kobe and his daughter. I admired Kobe Bryant from his Lower Merion days. His skill and competitive drive were second to none. God bless his wife, his family and other families involved in the crash #kobe

Have been watching, reading and listening all day. Commonly shared isn’t his highlights, championships or MVP’s — I’ve seen very few of those. It’s mostly about how @kobebryant made us feel. Loved. Heard. Inspired. Encouraged. It’s endless. Terrible we lost him. Lucky we had him.
