2. The Boston Cannons and Chesapeake Bayhawks made moves up the MLL standings with victories over the weekend.
For the Cannons (5-2), a 10-goal second-half run fueled a 17-16 come-from-behind victory over the Atlanta Blaze. Down 10-7 in the third quarter, the Cannons rallied off the big run to take a commanding lead late.
The Blaze made a run of their own, cutting the deficit to 17-16 with 1:57 left. Tate Boyce, who had not played all season before entering the game while Nick Marrocco served a penalty, played the role of hero for the Cannons, making a save as the time ticked down.

Chesapeake (4-2) rallied from down five goals to get past the Dallas Rattlers 13-11 thanks to four goals from Steele Stanwick. Stanwick had a hat trick in the third quarter to help the Bayhawks flip a 7-6 halftime deficit.

The league also announced that Rob Pannell and Lyle Thompson will be the captains for the MLL All-Star Game.
3. Earlier this summer, US Lacrosse Magazine was in Boston to witness a historic weekend for lacrosse. All three professional leagues opened their seasons within miles of one another.
Check out the scenes from the first weekend in June.
4. Dublin Coffman (Ohio) senior Evan James has been named the Warrior/US Lacrosse Midwest Boys’ Player of the Year.
5. New Trier senior attacker Lucy Murray wins Brine/US Lacrosse Midwest Girls’ Player of the Year honors.
