Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Princeton has been trending in the right direction the last few seasons, but after consecutive wins over Georgetown and Rutgers in men’s lacrosse, it’s safe to say that the Tigers are truly back among the nation’s elite. Princeton downed state rival Rutgers 16-11 in a Top 5 matchup on Friday night, highlighted by this gem from rising star Coulter Mackesy.
ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME @TigerLacrosse’s Coulter Mackesy is feelin’ it tonight. Freshman out of @Wick_Lax going top shelf for his FOURTH goal of the game in a top-10 battle with Rutgers. pic.twitter.com/KSIgGCvgY5

2. No. 9 Loyola passed its biggest test of the season, scoring the last three goals of the game to beat No. 14 Florida, 12-9, in women’s lacrosse. Sam Fiedler scored four for the Greyhounds and Livy Rosenzweig topped 350 points for her career.
The backdoor cut. The pinpoint feed. The finish in traffic.

3. Loyola had some fun on the men’s side too, with the Greyhounds racing out to a 10-2 halftime lead in a 12-10 upset win over No. 11 Duke on Sunday. In other Sunday men’s action, Penn won another thriller, beating Villanova, and Yale led wire-to-wire in a win over Denver.

4. After having its four previous games decided by a combined five goals, the No. 5 Syracuse women finally had some breathing room, defeating No. 15 Virginia, 17-11, behind five goals from Meaghan Tyrrell on Saturday. It was the fourth game this year with at least five goals for Tyrrell, who leads the team with 28. The Orange are a perfect 3-0 in the ACC.
5. No. 11 Denver made the biggest statement on a busy Sunday slate in women’s lacrosse, beating No. 8 Michigan 9-8. The top three teams — Boston College, North Carolina and Maryland — all rolled and Arizona State blew out No. 19 Colorado.
6. Ohio State bounced back from last week’s loss to Cornell with a big 14-11 win over Notre Dame as Jack Myers continued his torrid start with a seven-point game (4g, 3a). Myers has 38 points in six games. Elsewhere in the Midwest, Michigan’s undefeated season came to an end as Harvard upset the Wolverines 14-9.
7. The weather was a mess through much of the lacrosse footprint this weekend. Postponed games, cancelled streams, but Maryland’s men’s lacrosse fans got to see the first athletic event in the former Cole Field House since 2002 thanks to intern Matt Sanders, who streamed the Terps 24-6 win over Albany on his phone.
