Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Canadian Lacrosse Association accepted the resignation of three high-ranking national team volunteers, announcing Friday it has parted ways with chairman Dean French, men’s field lacrosse director Dave Huntley and box lacrosse director Johnny Mouradian.

French, Huntley, Mouradian and women’s lacrosse director Gary Gait sent a letter to the CLA board Oct. 22 threatening to resign by March 31, 2018, if it did not replace president Joey Harris and director Sohen Gill, apply to restore its registered amateur athletic association status with the Canada Revenue Agency and improve insurance coverage for national team players. The CLA cited “irreconcilable” differences in parting ways with French, Huntley and Mouradian. Gait has been told by the CLA board he can reapply for his position, according to the Peterborough Examiner.

The CLA, meanwhile, may need to be dissolved and replaced with a new organization to regain amateur athletic association status, which the CRA revoked in 2010 due to a $60.7 million gifting program deemed an “abusive tax shelter.”

2. National Lacrosse League preseason games in Saskatchewan and Calgary each drew more than 12,000 fans Saturday, according to NLL TV reporter and producer Tyson Geick, as the Rush blasted defending NLL champion Georgia 24-9 in a rematch of last year’s Champion’s Cup final and the Roughnecks defeated Vancouver 13-5.

Also on Saturday, Toronto tied Colorado 15-15 and Rochester held off Buffalo 12-8. The NLL regular season opener is Dec. 8.

3. The Maryland men’s and women’s lacrosse teams visited the White House, as President Donald Trump honored the NCAA champions Friday. Dylan Maltz stole the show with a Trump tie that garnered special attention from the president.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• Rutgers has not made the NCAA tournament since 2004. Adam Charalambides’ return and the stewardship of a 13-man senior class give the Scarlet Knights reason to believe they can end the drought in 2018.

• A record 762 college coaches attended and more than 5,000 prospects competed in the IWLCA President’s Cup in Florida over the weekend.

• Kids coach the parents for a day —  just one of the fun and creative ways the Gwinnett (Ga.) Lacrosse League has drawn Atlanta-area girls to its Sticklets program.

• U.S. Army Sgt. William Kleinedler and Specialist Calvin Todd are honorees and beneficiaries for the 12th-annual Sticks for Soldiers Thanksgiving Charity Lacrosse Tournament, which will be hosted by the Fairfield Ludlowe (Conn.) boys’ lacrosse program Saturday. More than 900 boys and girls from 60 Connecticut high schools are expected to participate in the event, which has raised more than $675,000 for wounded veterans.
