Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The National Lacrosse Hall of Fame welcomed nine new members on Saturday at The Grand Lodge in Hunt Valley during the 2017 induction ceremony.
Doug Knight, Jim McDonald, Casey Powell, Brooks Sweet and Don Zimmerman were honored as the male members of the 2017 Hall of Fame class. Knight, Powell and Sweet were inducted as truly great players, Zimmerman as a truly great coach and McDonald as a truly great contributor.
Leslie Blankin Lane, Jill Johnson Redfern, Robyn Nye Wood and Laurette Payette rounded out the women’s 2017 class. Lane, Redfern and Wood went in as truly great players, while Payette was a truly great contributor.
Congratulations poured in throughout the weekend.

It was an honor
2. A lacrosse player in the Olympics? No, the sport is not headed for the 2020 Tokyo Games, but former Towson close defenseman Matt Gorman might be.
Gorman, who played for the Tigers from 2014-16, made the U.S. national handball team last week. The national team is just one tournament away from qualifying for the Olympics in 2020.
He learned about the sport while watching the 2016 Rio Games, and if Team USA succeeds at the Pan American Games in 2018, he’ll be involved in it next time around.
3. The UWLX continued announcing the members of its four teams over the weekend, including a couple notable names from the women's lacrosse world. Most notably, Oregon coach and former Northwestern star Katrina Dowd will re-join the Long Island Sound for the 2018 season.

Dowd, who also served as an assistant coach for the Canadian national team at the FIL World Cup, joins her Oregon assistant, Michelle Tumolo in the UWLX.
