Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The NLL regular season has been canceled.
Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz made the announcement on Wednesday, citing the health of the players as a main priority, but did not rule out a return for the playoffs. Check out more on the news here.
2. John Tillman almost chose to travel to Australia over his first coaching job.
The now NCAA champion coach decided to stay home in lieu of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, starting his illustrious career with an assistant job at Ithaca. Check out more takeaways from Tillman’s appearance on the Overtime podcast.
3. New England College coach Meg Leo stressed the importance of coming together as a team in the IWLCA blog “Behind the Whistle.”
Leo recounted the unraveling of the 2020 season, and how having a team helped her through the process.
4. The Virtual NCAA Tournament Bracket races on.
North Carolina pulled the first notable upset of the tournament, topping Maryland in the men's first round. Head to Twitter to vote on the rest of the first round.
Here are the full brackets.
4. Callum Crawford is joining the Chesapeake Bayhawks.
After two years away from the field game, Crawford joined with the MLL defending champion, the team revealed Wednesday. Crawford teams up with fellow Canandians Andrew Kew and Colton Watkinson.
