Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Lafayette head coach Jim Rogalski stepped down from his position and will head to Michigan to be an assistant under Kevin Conry. The school announced that Rogalski resigned and assistant coach Ed Williams would take over as interim coach for the 2018 season.

Rogalski, who went 14-54 in five seasons with the Leopards, will presumably take over the defensive coordinator position at Michigan. Conry, the former Maryland assistant, retained offensive coordinator Conor Ford.

With Rogalski’s departure, Lafayette becomes the fifth Division I school with a new head coach, following Canisius, Cornell, Delaware and Michigan.

2. The Oregon Ducks picked up a second Louisville transfer in as many days, as coach Katrina Dowd announced Lexy Biller signed on to the program. Biller joins former Louisville teammate and Second Team All-American goalie Brittany Read.

Read and Biller helped the Cardinals finish 11-8 last season and earn a berth in the NCAA tournament. They'll join a Ducks team looking to make its mark as the Pac-12 approaches.

3. The WPLL announced Wednesday that coverage of its inaugural player draft will be streamed live from Lax Sports Network's studio in Woburn, Mass. on Aug. 23. The league announced Tuesday the names of the five teams that will compete in its first season: the Baltimore Brave, New England Command, New York Fight, Philadelphia Fire or Upstate Pride.

4. Maryland and North Carolina, the past two men's NCAA champions, will face off in the 2018 Pacific Coast Shootout, which will take place in Costa Mesa, California on March 24. The event is back for its fifth year after a classic 2017 game, which saw Virginia outduel Cornell 19-18 in overtime.

For John Tillman and his team, it's the third appearance in the Shootout. The Tar Heels will be making their second appearance and last since the two teams met in 2015.

5. During their run to gold in the FIL World Cup and World Games last month, members of the U.S. women’s national team took part in the Mission Log blog series. Each player contributed a blog post during the three-week journey.

  • What we're listening to: The Fred Opie Show is back, and this time he's talking to the parents. Opie sat down with Dr. Kathy Giblin Ray, whose son, Jack, starts on the Navy attack. He dives into the challenges of raising a Division I prospect and tips to help your child in the classroom.

  • Matt Kinnear takes a really interesting look at the other side of the “dive rule” debate. Although there has been a push to end the rule, former Le Moyne goalie Alex Krawec has felt the effects of the dive.

  • Ever wonder whether John Tillman followed up with his promise to get a tattoo after his team won it all? Well, according to his Twitter account, he's still mulling it over.

  • With the WPLL draft just a couple weeks away, Inside Lacrosse breaks down the important players in the development of the newest women’s professional league.

  • The Calgary Roughnecks re-signed 29-year-old defenseman and alternate captain Dan MacRae to a two-year contract. The Colorado Mammoth also inked Nick Ossello for two more years. There were lots of NLL transactions this week, so check them out here.

  • Lacrosse is again among the leaders in growth of sport participation in high schools around the country. Check out the graphic that shows the game is continuing to rise in popularity.

  • Catching up with Rochester Rattlers goalie John Galloway, who has become one of the leaders of the team heading into an MLL sermifinal game this weekend. In other MLL news, Dylan Molloy, Zach Currier and Josh Byrne round out the Rookie of the Year field.

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

The MLL semifinals are right around the corner, and Lax Sports Network had some of the teams' top players on to break down each game. The Ohio Machine's Tom Schreiber talks his matchup with the Florida Launch, and the Denver Outlaws' Eric Law gives his take on the game against the Rochester Rattlers.

The Colorado Mammoth got a package in the mail today, and went to social media to open it. As it turns out, it was Dillon Ward's Goalie of the Year Award.
