Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. One-time Colonial Athletic Association power William & Mary, now looking for its first winning season since 2011, has turned to former Maryland player and St. Joseph's assistant Colleen Dawson as its new head coach.
2. She’s back! For the second time this year, Caitlyn Wurzburger will be on the cover of US Lacrosse Magazine.
Wurzburger, who already holds the national high school scoring record with a season to go, earned all-world honors in helping the U.S. women’s U19 team win the gold medal earlier this month and is featured on the September/October issue cover of the magazine. The magazine begins hitting US Lacrosse member households next week..
3. A positive follow-up on the story of Angus Goodleaf, the 12-year National Lacrosse League veteran who collapsed during a President’s Cup game near Montreal on Tuesday night.
4. The infusion of U.S. based players into the National Lacrosse League continued with the Georgia Swarm signing Notre Dame graduate Sergio Perkovic to a one-year deal. Perkovic is currently competing in the PLL as well, playing for Redwoods LC.
