Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Utah is in the market for a new head men’s lacrosse coach. Brian Holman is stepping down from the position, the school announced Wednesday.

Holman oversaw the Utes transition from club to varsity and led the team to a 12-20 mark in its first three seasons. He said he had always considered Utah to be a five-year commitment (he coached the club team for two seasons) and thought the time was ripe to hand the program over as the Utes prepare to join the ASUN Conference.

2. The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team is bringing back two of its top seniors for fifth years in 2022. Standout long-stick midfielder Teddy Leggett and honorable mention All-American goalie James Spence are using their extra year of eligibility to pursue graduate degrees and have another go with the Mountain Hawks, who are coming off a 10-2 season in which they were the No. 8 seed in the NCAA tournament.

3. Zed Williams compared the Whipsnakes without Matt Rambo to what the Lakers would be without LeBron James. It’s gut-check time for the two-time defending PLL champions, Phil Shore writes.

4. Davidson women’s lacrosse coach Kim Wayne wrote about embracing opportunities in the latest installment of the IWCLA’s “Behind the Whistle” series.

5. The second USA Sixes evaluation camp this summer continued Wednesday in Lake Placid, N.Y. — a place of particularly nostalgic value to Izzy Scane. Matt Hamilton checks in from day two in Placid.

Athletes Unlimited’s Kylie Ohlmiller threw out the first pitch before the Nationals’ game Wednesday against the Phillies at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

It was the third time this summer we’ve seen a laxer hurling from an MLB mound. Pittsburgh coach Emily Boissenault and Northwestern coach Kelly Amonte Hiller tossed the first pitch at Pirates and Cubs games, respectively, last month.

Ally Kennedy, Kayla Wood and Dempsey Arsenault joined Ohlmiller in the pregame festivities Wednesday.
