Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Welcome Dialed In's finale for 2017, and with that, we published yesterday 20 moments that made the year in lacrosse.
What will you remember most about lacrosse this year? The feature, from the December issue of US Lacrosse Magazine, includes the inspirational, the viral, and everything in between.
For me, it's probably the Terps winning the NCAA men's lacrosse national championship. It just felt like time had long since passed for that to happen and for media and fans to move onto something else.
Not among those 20, I'd give an honorable mention to veteran scribe Bill Tanton's well-earned retirement after a lifetime of publicizing the sport for the former Evening Sun (Md.), US Lacrosse Magazine and other media outlets.
2. The NCAA published a series of tweets from its research department regarding college athletes' sports participation during their high school years. Some interesting data on lacrosse, according to the player surveys that yielded the data.
More than 75% of NCAA men in basketball, soccer, baseball, lacrosse and swimming competed for both high school and club teams. Details https://t.co/9oPz6MykKA pic.twitter.com/NRT71E7JQc

More than 90% of NCAA women in softball, soccer, basketball and volleyball played on both club and HS teams. See more https://t.co/PyV07u36VS pic.twitter.com/skSyq1zkMh

NCAA men in soccer and ice hockey are least likely to have been multi-sport athletes in HS.

Most likely: Lax, football, wrestling, track. pic.twitter.com/AqsM1zqhGp
Most multi-sport participation throughout HS for NCAA women: Lacrosse and field hockey players.

Least: Gymnastics, swim/dive, tennis, soccer. pic.twitter.com/za8384h0aW
It's worth clicking on the link the NCAA included with a couple of the tweets. It would seem, on the surface, recent high school lacrosse players were able to incorporate with success additional scholastic sports and club lacrosse play into their careers, while realizing ambitions to continue playing lacrosse in college.
3. The Brogden Cup, a three-day series of games between American and Canadian players at the U17 and U19 levels, is underway in Jacksonville, Fla.
Yesterday saw Ontario's U17 girls defeat their U.S. counterparts, 13-3, while Ontario's U19 boys won that matchup, 14-12. Games continue today at 8 a.m. and noon ET, and live coverage is available at laxallstars.com.
