Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Down goes No. 1 in men's Division I.
Loyola, which had dominated Virginia, Johns Hopkins and Rutgers to start the season, entered its matchup with Towson as the best team in the nation with the best player in the country in Pat Spencer. The Tigers made a statement to the lacrosse community with a 12-10 upset victory.
How did it happen? Alex Woodall won 20 of 26 faceoffs, including all 10 in a tight fourth quarter. Sophomore Koby Smith helped hold Spencer in check throughout the night, although he still managed five points. But the highlight came with 10 minutes remaining, when Towson goalie Tyler Canto made this save.

2. Miranda Ibello provided the late-game heroics for Johns Hopkins, scoring the game-winning goal to help the No. 11 Blue Jays down No. 18 Georgetown 12-11 on the road.

Ibello, a 2015 U.S. U19 team member, provided the winner, but Maggie Schneidereith (two goals, four assists) and Mackenzie Heldberg (four goals) led the way for Johns Hopkins in the victory. Neither team led by more than two goals.
Johns Hopkins took an 11-10 lead with 3:07 off a Heldberg goal, but Georgetown found an answer with 28 seconds remaining thanks to a Morgan Ryan score. Ellie McNulty won the ensuing faceoff and Ibello scored 20 seconds later.

Down by eight goals in the second half, Loyola scored six of the final seven to pull closer as the minutes ticked down. Livy Rosenzweig finished with four goals and four assists for the Greyhounds.
-
No. 15 Princeton got five goals and an assist from Tess D’Orsi and Elizabeth George to dominate No. 14 Penn State 21-10.
