Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Major League Lacrosse made a major announcement on Wednesday. The league broke the news that its Collegiate Draft will be held at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. on March 9.
What brought the league to the NASCAR Hall of Fame? It said it is “working closely with New York Lizards owner Andrew Murstein, who also owns Richard Petty Motorsports, to create a unique experience for the fans.”
The draft will take place on the same weekend as the Crown Lacrosse Classic, which features Cornell, Jacksonville, Penn State and Towson.

2. Sam Apuzzo took home the Tewaaraton award after leading Boston College to the NCAA final last season. Could she be even better with Kenzie Kent back in the fold and another offseason of work?
Apuzzo got extra reps with Team USA at the IWLCA President’s Cup and continued to hone her craft. The returning Tewaaraton winner looking to improve on 2018 earns our Brine/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Preseason Player of the Year.
3. Penn State might be the most stacked team in the Big Ten entering the 2019 men’s lacrosse season. With Grant Ament returning from injury, Mac O’Keefe and Gerard Arceri back and a core of veterans, good things could be in store for Happy Valley.
The Nittany Lions check in at No. 11 in our Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Men’s Preseason Top 20.
4. Syracuse women had a down season in 2018, struggling through an incredibly tough schedule and finishing with a losing record. This year, Coach Gary Gait believes a rebound could be in store for the Orange.
Syracuse will welcome back veterans like Nicole Levy, Emily Hawryschuk and Natalie Wallon to mix with a talented freshman class. The Orange sit at No. 11 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Preseason Top 20.
5. The U.S. women’s national teams will head to Stanford for Spring Premiere this weekend. Read up on who will be making the trip in “Six Players to Watch at Team USA Spring Premiere.”
