Good morning. Here's the latest from the lacrosse world:
1. U.S. women use a strong start to top Japan in Sixes.
The United States raced out to a seven-goal first-quarter and held off a late Japan run in a 16-10 win Wednesday. Caitlyn Wurzburger tallied one goal and three assists, and Belle Smith netted a hat trick. The U.S. plays the Czech Republic today at 4:30 p.m. Eastern.
2. Canada, England pick up Sixes wins.
Are we on a collision course for another podium that includes the U.S., Canada and England? Canada and England, which finished second and third at the women’s world championship, respectively, also picked up qualifying-round wins yesterday.
Canada topped Israel 14-6 behind hat tricks from Emily Boissonneault, Nicole Perroni and Annabel Child. Laura Merrifield’s game-winning goal pushed England over the Haudenosaunee 11-10.

3. Three champions were crowned at USA Youth Lacrosse Nationals.
Hero’s Lax: 2027 Green defeated Yellow Jackets Stadler (N.Y.) 7-2 to win the 13U bracket Wednesday at DE Turf Sports Complex.
Yellow Jackets Manning (N.Y.) was a 9-7 winner over Aces Elite 2026 in the 14U title game, while Steps Elite NJ: 2025 Navy downed Yellow Jackets Spallina (N.Y.) 8-4 to take the 15U crown.
