Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Wednesday was a huge day for the future and current visibility of the sport.
Major League Lacrosse announced that tonight's All-Star Game against Team USA from Harvard will be aired live on ESPNEWS and the league's Aug. 18 championship game will air on ESPNEWS.
Lax Sports Network announced that is entering into a multi-year partnership to bring live MLL games and original programming to ESPN+.
LSN will produce a weekly Game of the Week on ESPN+ and “Lacrosse America,” will begin Friday, July 6 and include eight programs in 2018 with another 35 shows to be produced between February and August 2019.
2. Matt Danowski won gold 15 years ago at the U19 level. Now he gets another opportunity to play for Team USA, and this time he gets to do it with his dad on the sidelines.
3. Major League Lacrosse is working hard to bring in best practices from other professional sports leagues to help improve the fan experience. Phil Shore takes a look at the landscape in the league.
4. Day four of the Vail Lacrosse Shootout featured the U19 boys and girls championship games. In the boys' final, FCA took down defending champ Laxachusetts 14-9 in the final. Lehigh recruit Mike Sisselberger earned MVP honors. On the girls' side, Team HLA downed Les Diables Bleus 8-6 in the final. North Carolina recruit Elizabeth Hillman, a 2019 U.S. U19 team tryout invitee from Bel Air (Md.) High School, earned MVP honors.
