Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Loyola men’s and women’s lacrosse teams swept Wednesday’s doubleheader, both scoring 11 goals to defeat Georgetown.

Pat Spencer led the charge for the Greyhounds with seven points on two goals and five assists in the 11-10 win, while Jay Drapeau scored a career-high three goals. The Hoyas had a last-minute effort to tie the game after a Loyola turnover, but went offsides.

Thanks to Hannah Powers’ career-high five goals and Amy Abdalla’s career-best six ground balls, the lady Greyhounds surged past the Hoyas 11-7.

In other Nike/US Lacrosse Division I women Top 20 action, No. 11 Penn gave No. 1 Maryland its best challenge since No. 2 North Carolina lost to the Terps by three on Feb. 25. The Quakers trailed 7-2 at halftime, but won the second half 5-4, though ultimately falling 11-7. Jen Giles led the Terps with five points (three goals, two assists), while Kali Hartshorn added a hat trick. Penn’s Caroline Cummings had a team-high three goals, all of which came in the second period.

Here are other Top 20 scores from Wednesday night:

2. St. Bonaventure will add Division I men’s lacrosse in 2018-19. The announcement came Wednesday as Bonnies athletic director Tim Kenney noted that it was part of an institution-wide effort to attract more student-athletes.

“The addition of men’s lacrosse at St. Bonaventure is extremely beneficial for the institution,” Kenney said. “We have a successful club team and significant interest in adding the sport at the varsity level as well. Also, the men’s program will complement our women’s lacrosse program well and give us another sport that I believe can be very competitive. For all these reasons, we are excited to add men’s lacrosse.”

3. Late bloomers Rob Pannell and Marcus Holman loathe early recruiting. The Team USA standouts both were recruited late – Pannell barely attracting a scholarship offer until senior year and Holman not making his high school varsity team until his sophomore year.

By his senior season at Smithtown High School (N.Y.), Pannell grew more than three inches and gained 15 pounds, but had already signed a letter of intent because he "felt like [he] needed to before every spot was taken."

"I tell kids to take their time,” Pannell said. “If those schools want you, that spot will be there, and if that spot isn’t there because you didn’t commit when they said you needed to, then it wasn’t the right place for you.”

Now an assistant at Utah, which currently competes in the MCLA, Holman said he has targeted players who became stars as juniors and seniors, only to find that elite schools had passed them by.

Fellow members of Team USA also provided their insight on the recruiting process, emphasizing visiting many schools.

4. Northwestern star Selena Lasota is being assessed day to day for a lower-body injury. She hasn’t played since an overtime loss to USC on Feb. 18, but the school does not believe it is season-ending.

Meanwhile, Stony Brook is adjusting without NCAA single-season goals record holder Courtney Murphy. Taryn Ohlmiller has stepped up in her absence, tallying 18 points in three games since Murphy’s ACL injury.

5. High school senior Will Dadouris’s non-profit, ReLax Collections, is still budding today after kickstarting it for a two-week mission trip to Jamaica with Fields of Growth at age 13. His business provides equipment to underprivileged communities around the world.
