Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The stage is set. There’s a lot to take in, as NCAA championship weekend returns to the City of Brotherly Love. Get started with Patrick Stevens’ A-to-Z guide to the final four.
2. Nine legends will be inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in the fall. US Lacrosse unveiled the inductees Wednesday. Ryan Boyle, Charlie Coker, Kara Arizaa Cooke, Rachael Becker DeCecco, Sarah Forbes, Cathy Nelson Reese, Matt Striebel, Paul Schimoler and Richard Speckmann will be formally enshrined during an induction ceremony Oct. 19 in Hunt Valley, Md.
3. The U.S. indoor training team played a Blue-White game Wednesday at Coppermine DuBurns Arena in Baltimore. Matt Rambo, coming off of his first season playing box lacrosse with the National Lacrosse League’s Philadelphia Wings, and Cody Radziewicz led all players with three goals each. The exhibition, which was open to the public and showcased a more box-refined U.S. squad, was followed by a clinic for more than 100 local athletes.
4. The Denver Outlaws and New York Lizards, the two teams that will meet in the Major League Lacrosse opener in eight days, round out our MLL season preview.
5. NCAA semifinalist Penn State is encouraging its students and alumni to #WhiteOutTheLinc, and Carolina Panthers wide receiver Chris Hogan — the former Nittany Lions lacrosse player and two-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots — and his wife Ashley are doing their part.
