2. The Division I recruiting dead period was extended to July 31.
The Division I Council Coordination Committee voted to move the deadline of the dead period to the end of July, essentially barring live scouting through most of the summer.
“The extension maintains consistent recruiting rules for all sports and allows coaches to focus on the student-athletes who may be returning to campus,” said Council chair M. Grace Calhoun, athletics director at Pennsylvania. “The committee is committed to reviewing the dead period again in late June or early July.”
3. With COVID-19 shutting down lacrosse across the country, companies around the sport have had to improvise.
Leaders in the lacrosse landscape like Trilogy, US Lacrosse, Faceoff Factory and plenty more have shifted to digital training. Nelson Rice dives into the innovation of the lacrosse community during the pandemic.
4. Joe Alberici thinks Army can advance to Memorial Day Weekend sometime soon.
The Black Knights coach joined Paul Carcaterra on the latest episode of “Overtime,” sharing his lacrosse journey and what it’s like to coach at a service academy. Check it out now.
