Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. For the third straight day, Paul Rabil’s Premier Lacrosse League dominated the lacrosse news cycle Wednesday, as the former Major League Lacrosse star continued his barnstorming tour to promote the new venture. Among the latest stops:
-
Episode 1 of “The League,” a series on Rabil’s personal, massively followed YouTube channel.
-
A tell-all interview with The Lacrosse Network, which is owned by Whistle Sports, a company in which Rabil has invested.
-
An Inside Lacrosse podcast that’s a worthy listen.
-
A visit at the New York Stock Exchange.

2. MLL executives and players — those who have chosen to remain with the league rather than sign with the PLL — believe there’s still value in the home team model.
According to tweets by College Crosse’s Chris Jastrzembski and Inside Lacrosse’s Kyle Devitte, the league’s front offices have been busy refilling the player pool and reportedly held a supplemental draft behind closed doors.
To summarize the MLL news:
— Chris Jastrzembski (@CFJastrzembski) October 25, 2018
-A supplemental draft that nobody was publicly aware of was today.
-Team personnel contacted players RE playing in MLL and for teams for past 2 weeks
-Most players don't know if and who selected them
-Results not public yet due to possible PLL conflict
Hey, @MLL_Lacrosse I know you guys are super busy right now but...are you guys doing a secret Supplemental draft right now and telling your coaches not to talk to media about it?

3. The U.S. women’s national team will play select squads from the UWLX and WPLL at the IWLCA President’s Cup next month in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. These games will be played in a 6-on-6 format currently under development by the FIL. There also will be a U.S. intra-squad scrimmage played with traditional rules. Team USA’s 25-player roster features six current collegians, including two players from James Madison, which hung tough with the U.S. at Team USA Fall Classic earlier this month.
4. Joey Sankey just finished the first quarter of his fight against cancer.
5. Zoe Belodeau (Penn), Hayley Hicklen (Florida), Haley Warden (James Madison) and Megan Whittle (Maryland) were named finalists for Best Women’s Performance of 2018 in US Lacrosse Magazine’s Best of Lacrosse series.
